About

Whether you’re brand new to the world of therapy or an experienced therapy client, I am glad you’re here! We seek therapy for a variety of reasons, and we each have our lived experiences that inform our understanding of the benefits and expectations of what therapy is and can do. The fact that you’re reading this at all suggests there’s some degree of openness, and we can work with that! I do this work because I genuinely love it. I always knew I was meant to be in the helping profession, and I consider it a great privilege to be privy to others’ deeply personal worlds. I aim to be very honest and direct with my clients and encourage humor, personality, and openness from both sides. I offer a completely non-judgmental space where everything and anything is on the table (trust me, as therapists, we’ve heard it all). Trust and comfortability can take time, and I respect clients’ pace and readiness to breach certain topics and directions. Without a doubt, therapy is an investment. Just as we invest in other ways (education, stocks, gym memberships, even skin care!), therapy is an investment into our general well-being, emotional intelligence, resilience, self-awareness, communication skills, and tolerance for discomfort. A major component of therapy is the fitness of the relationship between client and clinician. My style may not be a fit for every client, just as every client may not feel right for a particular clinician. I offer complimentary, 10-15 minute phone consults to hear more about your motivations for therapy and get to know one another before moving forward. Chronic Pain Work I have worked extensively with the chronic pain community, having trained with Alan Gordon at Pain Psychology Center and becoming certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT). In addition to being a clinician at the practice, I served as Intake Coordinator, admitting new clients and matching them with clinicians. Through this role, I have had the unique privilege of hearing thousands of mind-body stories involving a multitude of presentations. I understand that while there are certainly common themes, each client’s relationship with pain is unique, and their treatment must be tailored to fit their individual needs and lived experience. Using PRT as a guide, I assist clients through Somatic Tracking, Graded Exposure, managing fear thoughts, and other tools to help them understand their symptoms, increase self-compassion, and reprogram the brain's relationship to pain.
